It gives me immense pleasure and a sense of pride to be the secretary of such an organization which is well known for its social & cultural activities round the year. Balaji Mandir Pally Unnayan Samity came into existence on 23rd January 1950 and since the very first day of its inception BMPUS has established its worthiness by conducting number of social & cultural activities.
The spread of COVID-19 has proved that still we are too helpless to survive if we fail to follow the tune of Nature. Since February 2020 the whole world has been in the ghastly grip of Corona virus. The uncertainty and despair due to different reasons has left a major share of the population helpless and they have been in the urgent need of the support of those who are well to do, I think it’s our moral duty to support the poor and needy people in this hour of need, during the month long period of lockdown we organized free ration distribution programme through which we could help around 750 families, we could do it with incessant support of you all.
We have been conducting numerous social activities like IPP health center, Aganwadi center, Cultural & creative dance school, drawing school Blood donation camp, free health checkup camp, chess class all Bengal Chess tournament sports competition, cloth distribution to the poor & needy. We have been offering Ambulance Service since last 15 years and it has been recognized as best ambulance service in the town and its surrounding. Our effort has been recognized by the West Bengal Govt. and we have received financial aid for development works and we have utilized the same for developing our club premises with hall & other facilities.
I hope at this hour of despair the Shard Utsav will positively bring hope and happiness among all and the same will energize us to fight this situation with more strength. This year we are having our 71st Sharad Utsav and we are going to organize it without any big show as we think it’s our responsibility to give priority to the health and lives of you all as well as comply to the rules and regulations of Govt. We are making all the arrangements to ensure the social distancing and other SOPs to combat the spread of COVID-19.
May Maa Durga bestow her divine blessing on all of us and keep us hale and hearty! I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratification to one and all for their wholehearted support directly or indirectly in making BMPUS and organization of repute.
