About us

It was in 1950, in view of organizing Sarbojanani Shardiya Durgotsav in the area of Malancha, Kharagpur , the need of an organization was felt for the smooth execution of all such social & cultural celebrations, with this intention on 23rd January 1950, three philanthropists  of the area Late Subodh Chandra Bhattacharjee, Late Bibhuti Bhusan Banerjee and Late Sudhir Chandra Moitra laid the foundation stone of Balaji Mandir Pally Unnayan Samity.  The seed they sowed, gradually with the passage of time, extended its branches all around and grown into a tree.  With the heart-felt passion, trust, love, hope and expectation of people of nearby area, today the organisaiton has created its own identity as a centre of socio-cultural and educational excellence of the area.  In 1963 with special enthusiasm of Late Subodh Chandra Bhattacharjee, Balaji Mandir Pally Unnayan samity established a school NImpura Aryya Bidyapith at the club premises which has gradually become one of the renowned schools of Kharagpur as well as of the Paschim Medinipur district.  Through its cultural and educational endeavours (viz. running school, IPP, Drawing and dance education centre, ICDS etc) and social welfare activities (like Blood donation camp, plantation and social awareness programmes, games and sports etc.)  The name of this organization has winged over the horizon of Kharagpur and acclaimed district-wide recognition of entire Paschim Medinipur.  Every year through the Sarbojanin Shardiya Durgotsav the organization tries to instill the spirit of festivity and recreation amongst the people of all community.  With all these, Balaji Mandir Pally Unnayan Samity has been evolved to be an institutional unit that binds its more than 160 members and innumerable well-wishers together with and unbreakable knot of humanity, fraternity and mutual co-operation.
